Iris Dafnidis is a Greek-German designer whose work is deeply influenced by her heritage. Born and raised in Greece, in the shadow of the majestic Mount Olympus, she was immersed in a world rich with ancient mythology, history, and the art of handicrafts. From crocheting to sewing, these traditions were passed down through generations and have been central to her creative journey, continuing to shape her design philosophy to this day. These cultural elements and timeless techniques blend seamlessly with her contemporary vision, resulting in pieces that honor her roots while offering a bold, fresh perspective on the future.
In 2008, her grandmother introduced her to the delicate art of crochet, and she quickly fell in love with its magic and versatility. Since then, crochet has been a lifelong passion. In 2012, she moved to Berlin, where she worked in various areas of the fashion industry before completing her formal training as a tailor at a vocational school in 2016. Over the following years, she refined her skills and worked for renowned fashion designers, contributing her expertise to challenging projects. In 2019, she expanded her creative palette by learning the art of macramé, which has since brought new and fascinating elements to her work.
Fueled by an insatiable passion for creativity, she has brought her ideas to life through experimentation. After years of exploration and hard work, this journey culminated in the birth of her own label.
